Advertising Your Photobooth Company on Facebook: A Guide for Beginners
I always get a lot of questions about from new photobooth owners about who are just starting their new business, especially when it comes to social media.
Whether you like it or not, social media is unavoidable in 2020.
Well, maybe you can kinda avoid it in your personal life, but in the world of business, social media is an absolute must.
Think about it.
How often do most people nowadays turn on the TV and watch commercials? How about read the newspaper? Yeah, that’s what I thought.
Social media on the other hand, it’s everywhere. Your friends are using it, your kids are using it, your grandparents are using it, literally everybody is on Facebook and other forms of social media.
Well, almost everybody anyway.
Now, a lot of the articles you’re going to read online are going to tell you about the wonders of Facebook ads.
They’re not wrong. Facebook ads are incredibly powerful. That is, if you know what you’re doing.
If you don’t know what you’re doing, like the most of us when we’re just starting out, it’s just going to be a waste of time and money. Two things no new business owner wants to lose.
So, how do you advertise on Facebook then? Let me explain.
Create a Facebook Page
Create a Facebook Page for your photobooth business. It should be really similar to your website in that it should answer those three magic questions; What Do You Do? Why Should I Stay? What Now?
Not only that, but your Facebook page should have all of your contact information that you have available.
The more of a chore it is to find your contact information, the less likely someone is actually going to do it.
Post Lots and Post Often
This is the biggest key – post a lot and post often.
The more you post, the more people that will see your content and your brand. It’s really that simple.
But, how do you know what exactly you should post?
Well, as a photobooth owner, you’re in an amazing and unique position where you will always have a steady source of content.
That wedding event last week? That’s a post.
The corporate brand activation? Another post.
Jessica’s sweet sixteen? Yeah, you got it. Another post.
Now, you don’t have to go crazy and post every capture from your event, but it’s worth posting a couple of the best ones that really show off and represent what your photobooth brand is all about.
But beyond just posting events that you’ve had with different clients, it’s also important to post original and authentic content. This content will keep people visiting your Facebook Page to see, not just new events, but also what’s new and changing within your photobooth business.
Got some new lights? Post it! How about a new feature? That’s right, post it.
Make sure that everyone knows what’s new and changing within your company so that they continuously check out your page to see what new toy you’ve got your hands on.
This can also apply to opinions you may have regarding new changes or new themes within the photobooth industry. Be careful with this one, though! It’s best to not post anything too controversial as to keep your audience as wide, and as happy!, as possible.
Share Your Own Content
Anytime you post something that you’re especially proud of on your Facebook Page, share it to your personal profile.
It may seem kind of weird at first to share your own content, but trust me, it’s so worth it.
By sharing your own content, you’re allowing all of your friends to see what you’ve posted even if they’re not following your photobooth business’ page.
This will ultimately drive more people to follow and like your page and, if you’re lucky, even share your content on their page. The more people that share your content and your posts, the more completely free advertising that you receive. And at the end of the day, nothing beats free.
Offer Special Promotions
It’s important to not go overboard with offering special promotions because you certainly don’t want people to think that you’re a budget brand or that you’re constantly offering promotions.
With that said though, it’s not a bad idea to offer “Facebook Only” promotions every once in a while to drive people to follow your page so that they never miss out on these special deals.
When it comes to promotions, whether on Facebook or otherwise, I tend to recommend that you think of what you actually want to make from a client.
For example, let’s say you want your middle tier package to be priced at $1,000. What I would recommend is that you actually show the price as $1,150, but anytime you offer a promotion, have a promotion that is for $150 off your service.
Why?
Well, this will allow you to offer an absolutely AMAZING discount ($150! I’m in!) while not actually losing out on what you want to make.
Continue to Build Up Content
Continue to build up your Facebook Page’s content over time. Once you start to get a better idea about what works and what doesn’t, then you can start looking into targeted Facebook ads.
But, by having a lot of existing content, you’ll be at an advantage.
I say this because when someone clicks on your future paid Facebook ad and, inevitably, visits your Facebook Page, they’ll see that you’re serious, established, and post regular content.
This will ultimately make your ad worth even more because that customer will be more likely to convert into a paying customer.
And at the end of the day, that’s what we all want – nice, paying customers.
