How to Easily Get Your First Photobooth Rental Gig, Even in 2020.
You’ve designed your logo, created your brand, you have a website, Facebook, and Instagram account. You’ve really done everything.
Well, almost everything.
It’s time to put you and your photobooth to work – let’s get some clients!
Introducing yourself to everyone you can is so important.
Remember that your photobooth business is new and people have no idea who you are, what your business is, or what you can do!
While it’s not always necessary, it’s never a terrible idea to do a free event for exposure.
I know, I know. I’ve heard it before. Doing a free event in the entertainment industry it can be a very controversial subject. But when done properly, exposure can actually take you further than you think.
I’ll speak from experience here, but I know that a lot of my first, 100% free, events have created life-long relationships with clients and clients that I’m actually happy to have.
But this didn’t come by itself.
What I made sure to do was to offer free events to venues that often had clients and guests that were in the price-range that I was looking for. I didn’t want to offer the cheapest photobooth around, it’s true, so I targeted mostly high-end venues and it really worked in my favor.
One other important aspect of free gigs is marketing – I cannot stress this enough!
For example, if you’re working a birthday party it’s incredibly important that you have your logo on the back of your photobooth screen, the overlay, the emails you send, that kind of stuff and then some.
Now, don’t go crazy. Make sure you have your logo everywhere, but in a tasteful manner. There is a very fine line that you don’t want to cross.
Nobody likes tacky!
If you’re not quite sure how to reach out to someone, particular a wedding or event planner, you could try something like this:
“Hey there! I’m new in the event industry and we may not have met, but I’d really like to work with you because I think our clients are going to be very similar. In order to show to you just how amazing our photobooth rental is, I would love to offer you my premium package free of charge for any of your customers.”
This makes the wedding planner look incredible because they just got a free photobooth for their client.
And not just any photobooth rental, but a truly premium one!
Not only do you have the opportunity to show off you and your photobooth business, but if you create an excellent rapport and synergy with the wedding planner, I guarantee you that they’re going to stick with you.
Weddings are a pain in the ass and, honestly, wedding planners want to work with easy going people.
Trust me.
Marketing coordinators also tend to be great people to speak with if corporate events are more your thing.
Why?
Because companies are always hosting events and if they really love your photobooth and the service you provide, I’m willing to bet they’ll come back for more.
